Electric car- a good option?If you are concerned about the environment and have a healthy bank balance too, then you have a good option of owning electric cars. Many American manufacturers have made the whole thing easier by converting traditional gasoline-driven cars into totally electric versions. Meanwhile, the Lightning Car Company, a British sports car developer, is promising to deliver a 700 BHP electric car capable of accelerating from 0-60 in four seconds. The Lightning Car Company is focused on the development and production of high performance electric sports cars. It will cost you around £150,000 to buy a Lightning electric car with a top speed thought to be in the region of 130 mph.

It is undoubtedly a delight for the elite class to buy ultra-expensive and high performance electric cars. This poses a challenge to the manufacturers to produce electric cars which are economical, are family sized vehicles and are capable of performing in par with petrol-driven cars.

The electric cars may possess longer battery life, but the family size electric cars have a maximum range of 50 miles which is reasonable for inner city commute, but don’t go anything beyond it.

Telsa Motors in the USA are posing to find a solution to this problem. They propose their new family size electric car which is soon to be produced later this year. The retail price of this car will be approximately £45,000.

No matter how many of electric cars hit the roads, the whole idea of switching over to the better option won’t be accomplished unless and until electric cars are produced as cheaply as regular gasoline driven cars.
