After word that the government may mandate standard stability control around 2010, Ford announced today that it wouldn’t have to worry about any government infractions. The company says every Ford, Lincoln and Mercury car and truck will have stability control as a standard feature by 2009. Currently, stability control is standard on mid- and full-size Ford SUVs, and will be standard on small SUVs and upcoming crossovers like the Ford Edge and Lincoln MDX MKX by the end of 2007. We’re big fans of stability control technology and expect other major automakers to follow Ford’s move.
