Raising a family is one thing, raising an environmentally-conscious family is another. Tesla releases a car for the family of tomorrow, that is, the family that won’t rely on fossil fuels with their latest electric vehicle (EV), the Model S. After over 250 deliveries of the first Tesla, the Roadster, the company is now setting sights on the family that wants performance, comfort, and luxury yet has the compassion for our beloved planet. The Model S seats five adults and two children and has more cargo space with equally priced cars because of a second trunk found under the hood. The 9-inch, liquid-cooled electric motor mated to the single-speed transmission propels the car to 60 mph from a standing start in about 5.5 seconds. A 300-mile range is possible because of the new batteries installed and these can be charged in 45 minutes. The panoramic roof lets the driver and passengers enjoy the view of the sky they’re not polluting while driving the Model S. $50,000.
